If you drop, get up.
Every man falls into sin or bad habits at some point.
Whether it’s what people see, or what happens between him and his Watcher alone, these moments remind him how weak he truly is.
We tend to think we are something, when in reality, before Allah, we are nothing.
So when you fall into your old ways, think clearly through this:
I am weak, and I need to accept this.
I know my true worth , even if people around me don’t.
Allah has concealed my sins out of His mercy, so that I can still show good to others.
Repentance is often the gateway to an iman boost because in that moment, you realise no one can forgive you except Allah ﷻ.
This way of thinking doesn’t leave you stuck in shame. It makes you bounce back stronger than you were before. Perhaps you needed that fall to wake up spiritually in the first place.
Imam Ibn al-Qayyim (رحمه الله) explains this beautifully: falling into sin can itself be a mercy from Allah, because it opens the door of repentance for His slave and through that door, the slave is drawn even closer to Him. What an honour, wallahi.
To conclude: me and you are sinners, and the best among us are those who repent. Allah would remove a nation entirely if it stopped sinning altogether, only to replace it with one that does and then turns back to Him. Understand your role in this relationship. Fall, return, and let Allah look after the rest.
Wallahu a’lam. May Allah forgive our sins and our shortcomings. Ameen.
